Welcome to the Prentice Group at the University of Manchester!

Our research is focused on first principles computational materials modelling – using computers to understand how and why materials behave the way they do by working up from the fundamentals of quantum mechanics.

We are particularly interested in the rich and fascinating behaviour of complex materials when they interact with light. Our work includes both developing new methods to model this behaviour, and applying these methods to emerging materials that will underpin the next generation of technological applications.
